Last night, I received a call about working down-range today. I had no problem and agreed, because it's a day out of the office. The downside is packing a lunch, which I know is neither satisfying or healthy, and obviously, I'm trying to eat healthy (healthier, right?) these days.
Anyway, the dreaded alarm clock did it's job this morning, I woke up! Okay, really, I got out of bed and began exercising, not really awake, because for the second time in a row, I forgot to stretch. I felt it immediately, but I was already committed to the motion, and wasn't stopping until I was done.
Mission complete, I showered and remembered I had to dress appropriately to go down range this morning. Dress appropriately only means wear whatever matches my safety boots (cool steel-toe Sketchers, yeah, who knew?) and is warm enough for the cool mornings, and light enough for the hot afternoon sun.
Apparently, I didn't think through the whole working down range thing, because as soon as I boot those steel-toes on, I thought my legs turned into lead! Even using the gas pedal to drive to work was a feat for my right calf...I could feel it tightening up and on the verge of cramping. MAYBE if I had stretched this wouldn't of happened...I'm thinking no.
It's only 0640, and the rest of the day is in front of me and my cement blocks are stressing me out a bit. I could be positive and look at it like I'm exercising all day and that will benenfit me in the long run, but seriously, who works out that long? :)
