I signed up for the 24 week training program from 19 November, which puts me at actually beginning 6 June. It's been a very long time since I did any real exercising...basically since I was active duty. I don't want to wait till June to "begin" getting ready, because if I procrastinate at all, and that is likely, it will throw off my training schedule. So I decided yesterday, to begin today.
My day started at 0400. Let me begin by saying, "Wow"! As it is, I usually wake at 0430, but believe it or not, that half hour makes a big difference...for me. Additionally, I don't wake up and exercise, I get ready to go to work...so mostly I stumble about, usually prodded by Adam. Today actually involved waking, putting on my shoes, that I am wearing to the event, and actually exercising on my elliptical.
I know, I know, not walking on the street, but this is my ramp up, getting ready, remember! LOL! Lucky for me, my new best friend (yes, the elliptical) is parked right in front of my TiVo, and so started my love affair with Southland, season 2. Amazingly, the time flew by! I was totally energized!
Did I forget to mention no stretching? Yes, Adam even reminded me...nah, I'll be okay. Hello! My knee has been throbbing all day! Let me explain the problem here...waking up even 10 minutes earlier to stretch is going to kill me. Right now, it's a toss up, I'll let you know tomorrow how that goes, if at all.
All in all, it was okay, but I haven't rested yet, so again, I'll let you know how I'm feeling tomorrow. I'm still pretty excited about this new regimen. Let's keep our fingers crossed, that I feel this positive in the near future! LOL :)
